Tallulah Willis Marries Musician Justin Acee in Idaho Wedding, Wears Custom Balenciaga Gown

Tallulah Willis, the youngest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, married musician Justin Acee on Saturday, August 8, in an intimate ceremony in Sun Valley, Idaho, according to Page Six and Vogue. The 32-year-old writer, artist and mental health advocate wore a custom Balenciaga gown for the occasion, capping a whirlwind engagement that began with a candlelit proposal in December 2024.

According to Vogue, the couple had been dating since January 2023 before Acee, a former drummer for the band Made Violent who now records under the artist name NIGHTIES, proposed with a room full of candles and rose petals scattered across the floor. In footage shared by Tallulah on Instagram at the time, Acee can be heard saying off-camera, "We did it, it was a team effort."

Ahead of the wedding, Tallulah's older sister Scout Willis, 35, gave fans a glimpse of the couple obtaining their marriage license at the Blaine County Courthouse in Hailey, Idaho. Page Six reported that Tallulah wore a red polka-dot halter dress and sunglasses for the courthouse visit, while Acee kept it casual in black jeans and a blue flannel shirt as he held up the marriage license. Scout captioned the moment on her Instagram Stories, "My angels got their marriage license."

A Dress Seven Months and 712 Hours in the Making

The wedding gown itself became a story of its own. Vogue was granted access to Tallulah's final dress fitting, held about a week before the ceremony in a suite at the Chateau Marmont, where she was joined by her mother and sisters, Rumer and Scout. During the fitting, Scout recalled that Tallulah's dress search had started far more modestly than a couture Balenciaga commission. "Remember when you were sending me Etsy wedding dresses?" Scout said, according to Vogue. "This was like six months ago... From Etsy to Balenciaga couture — that's a moment."

The gown was designed by Balenciaga creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, marking one of the first bridal pieces he has created since taking the fashion house's helm. Demi Moore told Vogue that Piccioli spent four hours with the family the day after unveiling his first couture collection for the brand. "I think he would have stayed there playing all day," she said.

Tallulah worked with her mother's longtime stylist, Brad Goreski, to develop the look in collaboration with Balenciaga's couture team. "Being able to put together things that I like, and working together with Brad too on that... was such a beautiful moment," Tallulah told Vogue. Goreski added that the goal was a dress that felt "whimsical and ethereal" filtered through Balenciaga's aesthetic, saying the couture team's sketches left the group "blown away."

According to Vogue's description, the finished gown was a strapless column dress made of silk satin, fully lined with silk organza, featuring a draped train skirt and a bow at the back. Tallulah said the bow detail was Piccioli's idea, meant to evoke "a package that was being unwrapped." The bodice was built from cotton tulle reinforced with hand-picoted faille for structure, and its neckline drew inspiration from a black Balenciaga look Demi Moore wore to the Vanity Fair Oscar party earlier this year. "It was flat across [the neckline], and I just thought, wouldn't it be so beautiful to have no necklace and nothing up here, but just the shape," Tallulah recalled.

Vogue reported that the gown required 712 hours of work in total, including 405 hours of construction and atelier alterations, with an additional nine hours devoted solely to the veil. The hand embroidery, created by artisans in the Balenciaga atelier, involved individually beading and hand-applying each organza petal, a process that took roughly 60 hours on its own.

Describing what the dress meant to her beyond its craftsmanship, Tallulah told Vogue, "The best part of the dress is the magnitude. It's the thing that's getting me to my new husband. We made a decision at the very beginning of our relationship that we were going to choose each other every day." She added that she hoped the gown would feel "magical in a way that was unexpected, kind of like me," reflecting what she described as years of work toward being comfortable in her own skin.

Family Celebrates the Union

Tallulah's sisters publicly celebrated the marriage on social media. Rumer Willis, 37, commented on the wedding, "The most beautiful love to witness and watch grow. I love you both so much. Justin I'm so lucky I get to call you my brother. Baby Lula my gift my queen my heart is so full. Obsessed with you both," Page Six reported. The sisters' stepmother, Emma Heming Willis, who is married to Bruce Willis, added a simpler message of celebration with a pair of red heart emojis.

The wedding comes amid an emotional stretch for the Willis family, who have remained publicly close and supportive of one another as Bruce Willis, 71, continues to battle frontotemporal dementia, a condition affecting speech, personality and behavior with which he was diagnosed in 2022. Page Six noted that in June 2024, Tallulah shared photos of herself and Acee spending time with her father, and that in March, Demi Moore marked her ex-husband's birthday by posting new photos of him holding his three-year-old granddaughter, Louetta. Moore, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, captioned those images, "All you need is LOVE. Happy birthday, BW!"

The Sun Valley ceremony was described by both outlets as intimate, with family gathered around Tallulah throughout the lead-up to her wedding day, from the courthouse errand to the final dress fitting at the Chateau Marmont, where, after the emotional unveiling of the gown, Vogue reported that the group brought in French fries and lingered together, savoring what Tallulah called a moment to "soak and relish in the beauty and the magic." She closed her remarks to Vogue with thanks to Piccioli and Balenciaga, and to "everyone who has believed in me, and stayed the course."
